Gilman's Estates at Farmington - A Desired Destination

Wilmington, DE  - Gilman Development Company’s latest offering, The Estates at Farmington is quickly becoming the Greater Newark area’s most desired new home destination.  This quiet community of spectacular, yet affordable, executive homes is the perfect answer for homebuyers who want a quality home with a country setting in a convenient location.  Since opening the breathtaking Wyndham model home in June, the number of visitors and sales has continued to increase as more and more home shoppers end their new home search at Farmington.

The Estates at Farmington enjoys the best of all worlds.  Located north of the C&D Canal with Route 40 and Interstate-95 just moments away, shopping and commutes are a breeze.  Yet there is no price to pay for this convenience, as the community is tucked away from traffic and offers the peaceful, open feeling that many buyers are drawn to further south but without the additional driving time.  Half-acre and larger homesites provide enjoyable living for each family.  In addition, Farmington is one of the few communities north of the Canal that is located within the highly-regarded Appoquinimink School District.  The brand new Olive B. Loss Elementary School is just a few miles down the road.  The Everett Meredith Middle School and Middletown High School were each rated a Superior School by the 2001 State of Delaware School Performance Rating.

Four models are being offered at Farmington: The Bayard, the Cambridge, the Farmington Wye and the Wyndham.  Each home has over 2,400 square feet, a library, and volume space in the foyer, family room and master bedroom.  Extensive standard features are included at Farmington, such as a two-car side entry garage, a fireplace with white marble surround, and upgraded flooring including ceramic tile in the bathrooms and hardwood in the foyer and powder room.  All public utilities including natural gas enhance the comfortable living at Farmington.

The Farmington model home, the Wyndham, is another in Gilman Development’s long line of prized and stunning designs, and the boldly decorated Wyndham is drawing a crowd just like Gilman’s award-winning Long Meadow and Legends model homes.  The handsome front façade, with stone, stucco and columns, attests to the builder’s quality craftsmanship.  From the open foyer you can enjoy the formal living room with fireplace or imagine entertaining in the striking formal dining room, complete with a butler’s pantry.  The spacious two-story family room also has a fireplace and leads into the optional sunroom.  The inviting kitchen and breakfast area include a large center island with stools and a desk area.  The first-floor library is tucked away to one corner of the house to provide a quiet area for reading or conducting business.

The second floor continues the grand elegance in this over 3,000-square-foot home with large secondary bedrooms and an inviting master suite complete with sitting area, abundant closet space and a magnificent bath including his and hers sinks, a vanity, and the fabulous spa option in the shower.  The nature explorer bedroom and bright pink bedroom are sure to be a hit with children, and don’t miss the finished lower level “Pub” recreation area.  With a third fireplace, sitting area, pool table, card table, bar, and full bathroom, this part of the house is the favorite of many visitors.

The many trees, in their fall splendor, provide a beautiful frame to the community, and with the busy holiday season upon us, homebuyers will additionally appreciate the tranquility and serenity of the Estates at Farmington.  Gilman is currently offering an incentive of $15,000 that can be used toward any options the buyer wants, whether it’s a sunroom, finished lower level, three-car garage or a variety of other options.  The decorated model does a great job of showcasing the possibilities, plus Gilman’s sales and construction staff takes the time to work with each customer as they personalize their home.

For home shoppers that have been tempted by lower New Castle County openness, but want to stay close to the action, Farmington is the solution.  Add in the value of a Gilman home and the decision is easy.

The Wyndham model is open from 11:00 – 6:00 daily.  The Estates at Farmington is located on Old County Road off Route 896.  From I-95 exit at Route 896 South.  Continue on Route 896 past the intersection with Route 40 and turn right at the first traffic light onto Business Route 896.  Make the first left onto Old County Road.  The Estates at Farmington is approximately one mile ahead on the right.  For more information about Farmington and Gilman Development Company please call (302) 834-2600 or visit Gilmanhomes.com.

Personal Attention at The Legends Sets Gilman Apart

There are so many reasons to be captivated by Gilman Homes at The Legends in Middletown.  There is breathtaking beauty in the golf course vistas, the community has a convenient, yet secluded location and, of course, there is the confidence that comes with buying from a company with a long history of building neighborhoods that develop into very special places.  A drive through the LongMeadow development just down the road from The Legends, showcases how unique a Gilman community is for families.  In fact, Gilman Homes’ LongMeadow won the 2000 Regal Awards Community of the Year, and that momentum is continuing at The Legends.

Gilman Homes is pleased to invite prospective homebuyers to its model “The Cambridge” at The Legends.  This is a new model for Gilman and continues the company’s line of homes that are both functional and attractive.  The Cambridge model architecture is timeless and distinctively impressive.  The front facade is classic and confident.  Several exterior options are available that incorporate elegant stone, stucco or brick.

The interior of the Cambridge is innovatively inspired by the ways families live today and includes such items as a spacious family room, a separate study, and a gourmet kitchen with breakfast room, as well as an elegant dining room and inviting parlor.  The abundant windows allow for enjoyment of the golf course views from many rooms.  The virtual glass wall in the family room epitomizes this feature.  The sunroom is a gorgeous and very popular item especially when extended to the second floor where it becomes the sitting area for the owner’s suite, which with a cathedral ceiling and fireplace makes for a very lavish retreat.

The scenery surrounding the Cambridge model is eye-catching, too, with the lush golf course panoramas.  All homeowners in The Legends will enjoy the beautiful placement of their homes among the golf course, and most homes will have direct golf course views from the backyards.  Golfers and non-golfers alike will appreciate the natural, distinctive and prestigious feel of the community.  Residents will also have convenient access to The Legends amenities including tennis courts, a pool and a clubhouse opening soon.

Plus, Gilman Homes has the flexibility to let you personalize your home to fit the individual lifestyle of your family.  “Buying from Gilman allows customers to design a house that matches their dreams in every detail,” says Bob Vantrease, Gilman’s sales manager.  First, the Gilman sales and construction teams work closely with the customer to ensure they understand the buyer’s wishes.  Then Gilman maintains close contact with the buyer throughout the construction process so that each home is designed and delivered to perfection.  This personal attention, in addition to Gilman’s excellent craftsmanship, sets the company apart from other homebuilders.

In addition to the Cambridge, several other home designs are being offered by Gilman at The Legends.  All designs include a two-story foyer, plentiful windows, a fireplace, two-car garage, and two and one-half bathrooms.  One model also features a first-floor master suite.

To whet home shoppers appetites, Gilman Homes is currently offering the first $6,000 in options free.   Every Gilman home comes with a 10-year warranty from the Residential Warranty Corporation, which awarded Gilman a Keystone Builder designation due to its history of a job well done and a high rate of customer satisfaction.
